Wills

A will can document how you want assets handled after death and can address other wishes such as guardianship of minor children, subject to state law.

01

Why it matters

Without a valid will, state intestacy rules generally determine how property is distributed, which may not match the person's wishes.

02

Keep it current

Marriage, divorce, children, a move to another state, and major changes in assets are common reasons to review estate documents.
